Women's Basketball Opens Conference Play At The Beach Saturday

Game Notes - UCR at Long Beach State
The UC Riverside women’s basketball team starts the New Year with Big West Conference play on Saturday at Long Beach State.
Fans may follow the action live via live stats or listen to the play-by-play as the Voice of the Highlanders, Ghizal Hasan, calls the game beginning at 4:00 pm right here on gohighlanders.com.
UCR is coming off two straight losses and have dropped six of their last seven contests. Marissa Rivera (pictured) currently leads three players in double-figures with 12.3 ppg.
The 49ers have four players averaging double-figures in scoring led by Karina Figueroa’s 18.2 ppg. The Beach has also lost five of their last six games heading into conference play.
The Highlanders own the series record against the 49ers, 13-8, and have won the last nine straight games against them.
