Highlanders Baseball Encounters Scoring Drought, Falls To San Fran 7-0

Riverside, CA - The UC Riverside baseball team, fresh off of an offensive explosion Wednesday evening at No. 10 UCLA, struggled with the bats Thursday in the first of a four game set with San Francisco, dropping a 7-0 decision to the Dons at the Riverside Sports Complex.
San Francisco (3-3) scored three runs off four hits in the second inning and continued to add runs on the board as they scored one run in the fifth, two in the eighth, and one additional run in the top of the ninth inning.
UCR (3-2) could not string any hits together as they were limited to just four total hits on the night. Paul Bargas (0-1) picked up the loss for the Highlanders, pitching 6.2 innings and allowing four runs, all earned.
The Highlanders continue their four-game series with the Dons on Friday, Feb. 27. First pitch is slated for 6:00 pm.
