
Baseball Improves To 12-3 With 14-5 Win Over Columbia

UC Riverside's Baseball Team improved to 12-3 on the season taking a 14-5 win over visiting Columbia in the first of a three-game weekend series. The 14 runs were the most the Highlanders have scored this season, and the most since a 19-9 win at Pacific on May 3, 2008.
Paul Bargas (2-1) got the start for UC Riverside throwing six innings and allowing just four hits and one walk while striking out eight.
Carl Uhl led the Highlanders offensive attack with a four for five day driving in three runs and scoring another. Tony Nix extended his hitting streak to 13 games going two for three with two runs scored and an RBI, and Ryan Goetz increased his team-leading RBI total to 17 driving in a pair on a two for four evening.
