Riverside, CA - The UC Riverside women's basketball team has two remaining home games on their regular season schedule, the first of which pits the Highlanders against UC Santa Barbara in a 7:00 pm match up tonight at the Student Recreation Center. For live audio streaming click here.
The Highlanders and Gauchos each enter tonight’s hotly contested game with a 13-1 conference record and an 18-9 overall record. UC Riverside is riding a 13-game win streak and has not lost since Jan. 4 - the last time these two teams met. The winner of this game moves into sole possession of first place in the Big West.
This situation is nothing new for the two programs: UCSB was conference champions back in 2006, but the Highlanders won the BWC tournament. In 2007, UCR won both the regular season championship and the tournament championship. Last season, the Gauchos won both championships.
