McKay And Bergeson Win Singles Matches To Conclude UCI Invitational

Day 1 Story

Irvine, CA - The UC Riverside women's tennis team resumed play at the UC Irvine Fall Invitational on Sunday morning after inclement weather stalled play on Saturday.

Natalie McKay won the consolation match in the blue singles bracket with a 6-3, 1-6, 10-7 victory over NAU's Nicole Perez. Kate Bergeson defeated Elizabeth Hammond 4-6, 2-1 ret. for third place in the same bracket.

In doubles action, McKay teamed up with Nadia Sakhakorn to defeat UCI's Holladay and Smith 8-4.

This tournament marks the end of the UCR women’s tennis fall season. The highlanders will be back in action on January 22, 2011 for their regular season opener at San Diego State at 9:00 am.
