UC Riverside vs. San Francisco Game Notes
The UC Riverside Baseball Team (7-5) gets back into the swing of things this weekend following a 10-day break as they host the San Francisco Dons (10-8) for a three-game series at the Riverside Sports Complex. Matt Andriese (1-1) gets the start on Friday evening with first pitch slated for 7:00 pm PT. Fans who are unable to attend can listen to The Voice of the Highlanders, Ghizal Hasan, as he brings the call to gohighlanders.com.
Dustin Emmons (2-1) will take to the hill on Saturday afternoon for a 2 pm start, and Matt Larkins (1-2) will throw Sunday at 1 pm.
The Highlanders have hit a bit of a rough patch of late dropping three of their last four and five of eight since opening the season with four straight wins. The team's offense, in particular, has struggled averaging just 2.75 runs over its last four games.
The number crunchers over at boydsworld.com are still fans of UC Riverside, however, as they have the Highlanders ranked as the 47th best team in the nation in pseudo-rpi having played the 28th most difficult schedule in the country to date.
San Francisco comes into the non-conference series with UCR having won three straight including a 5-3 win at San Diego State at least weekend's 2010 Aztec Invitational. The Dons also have wins this season against a pair of Big West schools—one over Pacific and two over Cal Poly.
