Women's Basketball Opens League Play At Long Beach State Thursday

The UC Riverside women’s basketball team begins the Big West Conference portion of its 2011-12 schedule on Thursday, December 29 with a 7:00 pm tip at Long Beach State.
The Highlanders enter the game with a 2-9 record, having dropped their last two contests. Natasha Hadley and Tre’Shonti Nottingham pace UCR’s offense averaging 13.2 and 13.1 points per game respectively.
Long Beach State is 5-8 entering Thursday’s game, having won two of its last three contests. Tipesa Moorer currently leads the 49ers offense with 11.9 points per game.
UC Riverside owns a 15-11 all-time series mark against Long Beach State, having won the last two consecutive by identical 83-65 scores on March 2 and 8, 2011 respectively.
