9/20/2011 11:10:00 AM | Men's Soccer
Riverside—The UC Riverside Men's Soccer Team (3-2-1) travels cross country to Jacksonville, Florida this weekend sporting a winning record for the first time since late in the 2007 campagn. North Florida (1-6-0) (Live Stats) is the opponent Friday in a 4 pm PT match, while Jacksonville (1-4-1) hosts the Highlanders on Sunday at 11 am.
A weekend sweep in Florida would put the Highlanders three games over the .500 mark, which would tie the program record originally set by the 2004 squad when they began the year 4-1-0.
After splitting their first two matches of the season, North Florida has dropped five straight heading into the weekend, and they have scored just three goals on the season while allowing 20.
Jacksonville has lost three of its last four matches, but three of their four defeats have been by just one goal.
This is the first meeting betwen the Highlanders and both Jacksonville-based squads.
