The UC Riverside women’s basketball team is coming off of its first league victory of the season on Saturday against Cal State Fullerton (watch the highlight video), and is looking to win two in a row for the first time all season against UC Irvine on Thursday, January 26. Tip time is slated for 7:00 pm at the Bren Events Center in Irvine, CA.
The Anteaters have won their last five consecutive Big West games, and are currently tied atop the league standings with a 5-2 mark. Kassandra McCalister paces a UCI offense that scores 64.9 points per game with 11.7 individually.
The Highlanders are led offensively by Tre’Shonti Nottingham’s 14.7 points per game and Natasha Hadley’s 12.5. Dynese Adams has come on strong in the last five games, averaging 12.8 ppg and increasing her season scoring average from 3.5 to 6.1 ppg during that span.
UC Riverside owns the all-time series mark against the Anteaters, 28-13.
