Men's Basketball Drops 70-26 Decision To USC

Los Angeles, CA—The UC Riverside Men's Basketball Team ran into a buzz saw Saturday afternoon as the USC Trojans held the Highlanders to 19.0 percent shooting from the field en route to a 70-26 victory (Box Score).
USC scored on its first offensive possession of the game, and never looked back. Despite committing nine turnovers in the first half, the Trojans were able to build a 39-12 lead at the break thanks to a 15 of 21 field goal performance (71.4 percent).
The Trojans picked up their defensive game in the second half, holding the Highlanders to just one point through the first 14:22 of the period to lead 57-13.
Chris Harriel and Chris Patton paced UCR with six points each, while Eric Wise and Omar Oraby each scored 14 to lead USC.
The Highlanders return home this Tuesday, December 18 for a 7 pm PT game against Whittier College.
