Tucson, Arizona—The UC Riverside Women's Basketball Team concludes its three-game road trip this Saturday, December 21 with a 5 pm PT tip at Arizona.
This will be the second consecutive game against a Pac-12 team, as the Highlanders dropped a 77-73 overtime decision at Washington State on Wednesday (box score/recap). In that game, UCR rallied back from a 12-point second half deficit, and had an opportunity to win in regulation before sending the game into overtime.
Brittany Crain scored a game-high 29 points at WSU, and continues to pace the Highlanders offense averaging 19.2 points per game. The next three UCR scorers are all averaging between 11.2 and 11.6 ppg.
Arizona brings a 2-7 record in Saturday's game following a 65-56 victory over Texas Tech on December 15 that snapped a five-match skid. The Wildcats have two players averaging double-digit scoring led by Candice Warthen's 15.4 ppg and Kama Griffitts 12.7.
As a team, UCR averages 72.3 points, but gives up 77.1 ppg. Conversely, Arizona averages 61.2 ppg and allows opponents to score 65.8.
UA owns a 2-1 all-time record against UC Riverside (view all-time results), but the Highlanders won the most recent contest, 65-53, on Dec. 23, 2009 (box score/recap).
