Adam Young opened the inning with a single down the left field line, and John Williams singled to right to put runners at first and second. Seth Batty laid down a sacrifice bunt moving both runners up 90 feet, and a walk to Paul Politi loaded the bases. A wild pitch scored Young, and a Nick Lynch sac fly to left tied the game at two.
The Highlanders quickly regained the lead, as Joe Chavez drew a one-out walk in the top of the fourth, and Nick Vilter double down the left field line scoring Chavez.
Stuart threw a scoreless fourth and fifth innings, but the Aggies (13-22, 1-9) broke through again in the bottom of the sixth. One batter later, Young singled through the right side scoring both runners to make it 4-3 UC Davis.
Aggies starter Harry Stanwyck was lifted following the fifth giving way to reliever Robert Parucha who slammed the door on the Highlanders' offense. The sophomore didn't allow a single base hit in three innings, and was credited with the win running his record to 3-1 on the season.
Closer Max Cordy came on in the ninth, and after getting ahead 0-2 on Joe Chavez, he missed on four straight pitches to walk the lead-off man. Chavez tried to get into scoring position by stealing second, but he was thrown out on the play. Alex Rubanowitz drew a walk as well that would have moved Chavez to second, but the next batter, pinch hitter Robby Witt grounded into a double play to end the game.
