Riverside, CA—The UC Riverside Women's Basketball Team will look to move to 2-0 on the year for the first time since the 1999-00 season as San Jose State heads to Riverside on Thursday, November 20 for a 2 pm PT tip at the SRC Arena.
The Highlanders opened the year with an 80-69 victory over Santa Clara on November 14 that saw three players score in double-digits led by Brittany Crain's 29 points (box score/recap).
The Spartans split a pair of games to open the season dropping a 100-87 overtime contest at Utah and defeating Columbia, 119-76. Four players currently average double-figures in scoring led by 23.0 from Rebecca Woodberry.
Last season, the Highlanders defeated SJSU 105-74, recording the most points in the club's Division I history (box score/recap). Four UCR players scored in double-digits while three scored 20 or more points (Crain, 23; Annelise Ito, 22; and Natasha Hadley, 21). Ta'Rea Cunnigan paced the San Jose State offense with 22 points while three others recorded double-figure scoring.
UC Riverside is 1-0 all time against the Spartans as Thursday's meeting will be just the second in program history (view all-time results).
