Irvine, CA—The Big West Conference announced Monday that UC Riverside's Brittany Crain was named the Big West Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played November 17-23.
Crain averaged 25.0 points in two victories as she became the 16th member of the Highlanders 1,000 point club over the weekend. She drained a three with 5:47 remaining in the first half against San Francisco on November 22 to tally her 1,000th career point, doing so in 59 games—the second-fastest in program history.
Yet it wasn't just the record breaking weekend that netted Crain the weekly award. The 5-8 guard shredded San Jose State for 34 points–three off her career-high–and added a career-high 15 rebounds for a double-double in a 100-80 victory on November 22 (
