Bakersfield, CA—The UC Riverside Women's Basketball Team fell from the ranks of the unbeaten Thursday evening, but they look to bounce back Saturday with a 1 pm PT time tip at CSU Bakersfield.

The Highlanders won their first five games of the 2014-15 season before a 73-61 loss at Fresno State (box score/recap). The Bulldogs clamped down on the nation's leading scorer, Brittany Crain, holding the junior to 10 points on four of 15 shooting from the field. The rest of the Highlanders struggled as well, making just 35.8 percent of their shots as a team including 2 of 16 from three-point range.

UC Riverside still leads the Big West Conference in points per game, field goal percentage and three-point field goal percentage, and is second in free throw percentage.

Bakersfield is 5-1 on the year following an 80-70 victory over UC Irvine on Wednesday evening (box score/recap). The Roadrunners also have wins over Arizona and Fresno State on their ledger this season, while their lone defeat came against Arizona State.

CSUB boasts three double-digit scorers in Tyonna Outland (19.8), Dajy Vines (15.0) and Brooklyn Hinkens (14.5). Bakersfield is outscoring the opposition by 11.2 points this season thanks in part to a defense that is forcing 23.5 turnovers per game.

The Highlanders are 6-2 all-time against the 'Runners with each of those results coming over the past eight seasons (view results). Last year, UC Riverside upended Bakersfield 85-66 at the SRC Arena (box score/recap/video recap).
