Riverside—The UC Riverside Women's Basketball Team prepares to face off against the UC Irvine Anteaters on Saturday, February 15 in a 5 pm PT tip at the SRC Arena in Riverside.
The Highlanders are coming off of a 67-54 loss at Hawai'i on Thursday, in which the blue and gold led by 10 points in the first half before ultimately falling (box score/recap).
Brittany Crain paces the UCR offense averaging 18.4 points per game while three other players join her in double-figure scoring: Annelise Ito, Simone DeCoud, and Natasha Hadley.
UC Irvine had a bye on Thursday and heads to the Inland Empire Saturday for its lone game of the week. The Anteaters went 2-0 last week in Big West Conference play, defeating Long Beach State, 78-58, and UC Davis, 79-73, in overtime.
Camille Buckley and Jennifer Tsurumoto lead UCI's offense in scoring averaging 16.5 and 15.0 points per game respectively. As a team, UC Irvine scores 72.7 ppg while giving up 71.7.
UCI beat UCR in the team's previous meeting, 90-78, on January 11 in Irvine (box score/recap). The Highlanders own an all-time record of 30-16 against them, however, but have lost two straight (view all-time results).
