9/18/2014 10:00:00 PM | Men's Soccer
Riverside—The UC Riverside Men's Soccer Team battled San Diego for 110 minutes Thursday evening, but neither team was able to find the back of the net, and they had to settle for a 0-0 tie (Video Recap).
Both teams had their chances to score throughout the match, with the Highlanders best stretch coming in the second half. Michael Salazar and Romario Lomelli had back-to-back opportunities with eight minutes to go in regulation, and another Salazar chance was negated when Hector Romo couldn't quite keep the ball from going over the end line before crossing it to the redshirt junior.
Ashkan Khosravi recorded five saves on the night to pick up his first clean sheet of the season, and the eighth of his career.
The Highlanders hit the road next weekend traveling to UNLV where they will take on Utah Valley on Friday, and the Rebels on Sunday.
