Men's Soccer Drops 2-0 Decision To UNLV In Final Match of UNLV Rebel Classic

Riverside--The UC Riverside Men's Soccer Team was hoping to get back on the winning track prior to the start of Big West play next weekend, but it was host UNLV picking up the 2-0 victory in the final match of the UNLV Rebel Classic for both teams.

Danny Musovski put the Rebels (6-2-1) on top with just 3:06 gone in the match as Rodrigo Fuentes found him for a tap in on the left side for his second goal of the season.

It was still a 1-0 match in the 58th minute when the Rebels blocked a clearance by Ashkan Khosravi, and Fuentes grabbed the rebound to put UNLV up by two.

The Highlanders (1-6-1) played a man down for the last 28:55 as Eric Gonzales was issued a red card

UC Riverside begins Big West Conference play this weekend as the Highlanders travel to Sacramento State on Thursday, October 2 at 4 pm PT, and at UC Davis on October 4 at 3 pm.
