Riverside— The UC Riverside Women's Basketball Team returns to the Inland Empire this Saturday, January 10 for its first Big West home game of the 2014-15 season. Tip is slated for 5 pm PT.

The Highlanders droppped their conference opener at Cal State Fullerton Thursday evening, 58-49 (box score/recap). They were without the services of their second and third leading scorers, Simone DeCoud (12.0 ppg) and Annelise Ito (11.8), for the second straight game as the pair sat out due to injury and illness.

Brittany Crain scored 18 points against the Titans and still ears the Big West with a 22.998 points per game scoring average. That figure is also the seventh best in the nation.

At 9-6 overall, UC Riverside is still off to its best start since the 1994-95 season when the Highlanders won 11 of their first 15 games.

UC Irvine is 3-13 heading into the weekend having dropped their first conference game of the season to Long Beach State, 40-57. The Anteaters boast the fourth leading rebounder in the conference in Mokun Fajemisin who
averages 7.2 rebounds per game on top of her 11.2 points per game, leading her team in both categories.

The Highlanders are 31-16 all-time against the Anteaters, winning the last meeting almost a year ago, snapping a two game losing streak in the series. UC Riverside nabbed its win 87-75 (box score/recap). in the SRC Arena February 15, 2014.
