Riverside—The UC Riverside Baseball Team hosts Loyola Marymount this evening for its first mid-week game of the 2015 season. First pitch at The Plex is slated for 6 pm PT.

The Highlanders started the year with a four-game sweep of visiting Portland, but dropped three of four over the weekend in a home and home series with San Diego State.

Kevin Sprague (1-1, 4.91) makes his third start of the season today. After allowing just four hits over seven innings in the season opener against Portland, the senior was touched for seven hits and five earned runs in four innings at San Diego State on Thursday, February 19.

Loyola Marymount is 5-2 on the year, sweeping San Jose State in a three-game series to open the season before dropping a 7-6 decision at San Diego State. They lost another one-run decision, 2-1, to St. Joseph's before winning both games of a Saturday double header.

As a team, the Lions are holding the opposition to a .199 batting average while banging away at a .298 clip themselves.

UC Riverside is 20-17 all-time against the Lions (view results), and won the lone meeting between the clubs last season. 9-6 (box score/recap).
