Fullerton, CA—The UC Riverside Men's Basketball Team begins the second half of Big West play this Saturday with a 6 pm PT tip at Cal State Fullerton.

The Highlanders closed the book on the first half of conference play on Thursday, as they came up just short in their efforts to snap a 10-game losing streak to Long Beach State (box score/recap).

Jaylen Bland broke the Highlanders Division I era single-season record for made threes in the 68-63 loss netting four on the night to give him 71 on the year. The Previous record of 70 was held by current UC Riverside Assistant Coach Justin Bell and Javon Borum. With eight regular season game remaining on the docket, Bland needs 30 three-pointers to top the overall program record of 100 set by Maurice Pullum.

Bland and Johns each scored 18 points at The Beach to pace the Highlanders, and they continue to threaten the program Division I era record for top scoring duo averaging 35.6 points between them.

Cal State Fullerton picked up its first win in Big West play on Thursday upending CSUN at home, 69-53. The Titans are allowing Big West opponents to score a conference-high 72.0 points per game while make 43.8 percent of their field goals and 34.5 from three-point range.

Alex Harris and Lanerryl Johnson shoulder nearly half of the team's offensive scoring load in conference play combing for 29.4 of the team's 66.0 points per game.

As a team, the Titans are shooting 41.1 percent from the field and 31.5 from three-point range.

The Highlanders are 19-27 all-time against Cal State Fullerton with wins in each of their last two meetings (view results).
