In front of 490 fans, the largest single-season attendance record, the Highlanders came out swinging in game one smashing 11 hits. The blue and gold started out with three in the first inning to take an early 1-0 lead.
In the bottom of the third, after giving up a run in the top half of the inning, the Highlanders hammered out four more hits from Madeline Richard, Karina Romero, Kris DeAnda, and Chelsey Holley to bring around four more runs. The Aggies would not take the lead or even tie the rest of the game, scoring just one more run in the top of the seventh.
UCR kicked off game two with a bang as Faulkner blasted a three-runner homer into dead center field in the bottom of the first, answering the single run UC Davis scored in the top of the inning. The Highlanders maintained a lead the rest of the day pushing across runs in the third and sixth for a final, 5-3 score. Faulkner had two hits in game two bringing around four RBI.
