Riverside—The UC Riverside Track & Field Teams send student-athletes to three different meets this weekend—The adidas/Steve Scott Invitational, the CSUN Challenge, and the Payton Jordan Invitational.
Field events at the adidas/Steve Scott Invitational get underway Friday at 1 pm PT with the Women's Pole Vault, and conclude at 4:30 pm with the Men's Hammer Throw. Track events begin at 7 pm with the Women's Steeplechase and ends with the Men's 5,000m at 8 pm PT.
Saturday's competition starts at noon with the Men's Shot Put, Women's Discus and Men's 4x100m Relay, and concludes at 6:20 pm with the Women's 4x400m Relay.
The CSUN Challenge is slated for Saturday, and begins at 9:30 am with the Women's Hammer Throw. The Men's Steeplechase gets the track events underway at 2 pm, and the day's activities end at 4:58 pm with the Women's 4x400m Relay.
Four Highlanders are making their way to Stanford for the Payton Jordan Invitational: Raquel Hefflin and Faith Makau who will run in the Women's 800m in the four-o'clock hour Saturday afternoon, and Cody Jordan and Seth Totten who are running in the Men's 1500m sometime between 4:30 and 5:15 pm pending Heat assignments.
UC Riverside is hosting the 2015 Big West Track & Field Championships this season, and two-day passes to the second weekend of competition, May 15-16, are now available for
purchase online. Cost of a two-day pass is $20 for adults, and $10 for children, seniors and students who attend the nine participating schools.
Fans may attend the Multi-Events on May 8-9 free of charge, and single-day passes for May 15 and 16 are available at the door for $12 for adults and $7 for children, seniors and students (

The Highlanders Women's Team is ranked 10th in the West Region and 89th in the nation following last weekend's performance at the UCSD Triton Invitational. That is the highest ranking among all Big West Conference Teams, and the best national mark for UC Riverside since the 2011 campaign.
The Men's Team is 14th in the Region, behind only Long Beach State (6th) and UC Santa Barbara (12th) among conference foes.
Five members of the Highlanders are ranked in the Top 25 nationally—Makau (2:05.93, 20th in the 800m), Hefflin (2:06.10, 25th in the 800m), Totten (13:51.20, 12th in the 5,000m), Danielle Littleton (20' 5", 20th in the Long Jump) and Breana Jemison (54' 3.25, 16th in the Shot Put).
