Secaucus, New Jersey - The Miami Marlins selected UC Riverside infielder Joe Chavez in the 30th round of the 2015 MLB Draft Wednesday afternoon.

The senior closed out his four-year UCR career being named All-Conference Second Team, finishing 16th in the Big West in batting average (.308), third in triples (4), 11th in runs scored (37) 15th in stolen bases (9) and 12th in slugging percentage (.453). He was named to the Honorable Mention Team as a junior and the Second Team as a sophomore.
