Riverside—The UC Riverside Women's Basketball team travels to face CSUN in the second meeting of the season series Wednesday at 7 pm. Saturday they will host pre-season conference favorite Hawai'i at 7pm.

The Highlanders are 19-7 overall, 12-0 in the Big West and can wrap up the regular season conference title with a pair of wins this week. With an RPI of 54, UCR is projected to make the NCAA tournament as a 15 seed according to ESPN's bracketology, which has them in a match up with number 2 seed Arizona State in Tempe.

In their last game, a 90-76 win at UC Davis, Brittany Crain had 18 fourth quarter points, including four three pointers, while carrying four fouls most of the quarter, and finished with a game-high 33 points.

Rejane Verin had 25 points, 11 rebounds for her fourth straight double double to go along with a career-high tying five steals. She is averaging 17 points, 11.3 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals over her last four contests.

Crain is just 21 points away from becoming UCR's all-time leading scorer and is the reigning Big West Player of the Week, for a third week in a row. UCR has had just seven available players over the last four games, and Crain is averaging 31.5 points over that span, raising her season average to 21.7—ranking her 14th in the nation.

CSUN (6-20, 4-8) is coming off a, 77-66, home loss against Cal Poly. In the loss, the Matadors were led by Jasmine Johnson's 20 points, followed by Vanessa Garner's 14. The team's leading scorer and rebounder Channon Fluker was held to six points, five rebounds--well below her 12.0 and 9.5 per game averages.

In their last meeting, the Highlanders lost senior and all-around standout Annalise Ito for the season to an injury suffered late in the first quarter. The Matadors came out in a trapping defense to start the game in an attempt to speed up the tempo for the Highlanders, who remained calm throughout the opening quarter and the game en route to a, 83-76 home victory.

Michelle Curry scored a career-high 24 points and Crain poured in 21. CSUN got 20 points 17 rebounds from Fluker and Katelin King erupted for 17 points including five 3-pointers in the fourth quarter.

Hawai'i (16-9, 9-3) was victorious over UC Davis last week, 70-50. The Rainbow Wahine got 13 points apiece from Destiny King and Sarah Toeaina in the win.

They will face Cal State Fullerton Thursday night on ESPN3 before visitng the SRC Arena on Saturday February 27 at 7 pm.

UCR is 1-7 all-time versus Hawai'i, getting the their first win in the last meeting between the clubs, 77-74. (view results)
