Anaheim—UC Riverside Senior Guard Brittany Crain was named to the 2016 Big West All-Tournament Team for the first time in her career.
Friday, in the Highlanders, 81-72, semifinal loss to UC Davis, Crain poured in a game-high 36 points, including 4-of-8 from three-point range. She also dished out three assists and picked up two steals.
In last year's tournament, the first appearance in her career, Crain had nine points on 3-of-12 shooting.
Her 24 first half points Friday were just two shy of the record established in 1991 by Cal State Fullerton's Genia Miller.
The 36 points she tallied for the game landed her in a tie for sixth, and her 13 made field goals are tied for ninth all-time in Big West Tournament history.
Crain's selection is the first for the Highlanders since Tre'Shonti Nottingham earned the nod in the 2011 postseason event. View Big West Women's Basketball record book
