Riverside—The UC Riverside Softball Team will travel to face CSU Bakersfield on Tuesday afternoon for a single game with the first pitch scheduled for 1 pm.

The Highlanders (26-12-1, 3-3) are coming off a victorious weekend, when they swept UCSB for the first time since joining the Big West. They shut out the Gauchos, 4-0, in game one of the series on Saturday, and got walk-off hits from Hannah Rodriguez in the second game of the day Saturday, as well as in Sunday's series finale.

Big West Pitcher of the Week Tayler Misfeldt (17-8) tossed a complete game six hit shutout in the conference home opener against the Gauchos, who came into the series 3-0 in the Big West. Sunday in the series finale, she went eight innings, allowing just three runs and scattering eight hits in the extra inning victory. For the week she had an ERA of 1.37 over 15.1 innings while going 3-0.

Maddie Richard hit .818, had three 3-hit games, scored five runs and swiped three bases on the weekend. Richard led off each of the three games with a hit, she also was spotless defensively in right field. With the weekend's performance, she raised her batting average to a Big West leading .492. Her 13 hits in six conference games are also tops in the league.

CSU Bakersfield (10-25) was swept last week by UMKC in Western Athletic Conference (WAC) play. The Roadrunners belted three home runs in the final game of the series, but also committed three costly errors that led to eight unearned runs in the 12-7 loss in Kansas City.

Julea Cavazos leads the team in hitting with a .357 batting average and 40 hits on the season. Syndey Raeber leads the time with 14 runs driven in and ranks second on the squad hitting at .352.

Amber Mills (5-9) is the Runners' ace with a 2.87 era and 83.0 innings pitched.

The Highlanders lead the overall series 8-5 and have won the last five in a row, the last meeting took place in 2014. (view all-time results)
