Murrieta, CA– UC Riverside Men's Golf alumnus David Gazzolo ('15) fired a bogey-free 65 in the final round at the Bear Creek Golf Club to capture his second straight California State Open Championship.
Gazzolo posted a two-under 34 on the front side to get his score to -6 for the championship. He then birdied four of his first five holes en route to a five-under par 31 on the back-nine in carding a seven-under 65–the low round of the tournament. (

While at UCR,
Gazzolo was a three-time All Big West Conference selection, and led the team in scoring average each of his four years.
Sam Gillis ('17) began the day four strokes back of the pace, and pulled to within a shot early on. He struggled on the back nine, but earned a top-10 result in his first professional start.
