EL MACERO, Calif. — UC Riverside finished 17th at the El Macero Classic, concluding the 54-hole event with a team total of 907 at El Macero Country Club.
The Highlanders opened the tournament with a 297 in the first round before posting a 303 in round two and a 307 in the final round.
Stephen Luo led UC Riverside, tying for 39th place at 8-over 224 after rounds of 75, 74 and 75. Jacob Vazquez followed closely behind, tying for 45th at 9-over 225 with rounds of 72, 75 and 78.
Chanhee Ryu finished tied for 55th at 11-over 227 with rounds of 75, 76 and 76, while Samuel Bonzoumet tied for 81st at 16-over 232 after posting rounds of 75, 79 and 78. Caden Breisch rounded out the Highlanders' lineup, tying for 94th at 22-over 238 with rounds of 78, 78 and 82.
Pacific captured the team title with a 3-under 861, while California Baptist and Nevada rounded out the top three in the 19-team field.
The Highlanders now have their eyes set on the three day Big West Championships tournament in La Quinta beginning Sunday, May 3rd.
