PALM DESERT, Calif. — The Highlanders tied for 17th at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate, finishing at 27-over par after three rounds at The Classic Club.
The Highlanders opened with a 10-over round, followed by 15-over in the second round, before closing strong with a 2-over 290 in the final round to cap the 54-hole event.
Caden Breisch led UC Riverside, tying for 41st at 1-over par. He opened with a 1-under round, added a 2-over second round and closed with an even-par performance. Stephen Luo finished tied for 68th at 6-over, highlighted by a 2-under final round.
Chanhee Ryu tied for 79th at 7-over, while Samuel Bonzoumet placed 109th at 18-over. Jacob Vazquez rounded out the Highlanders, finishing tied for 117th at 23-over.
Colorado captured the team title at 34-under, followed by Maryland at 22-under and California Baptist at 19-under.
The Highlanders tee up next in Fresno as they compete in the two round Watney Invitational beginning Monday, March 2nd.
