SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — The UC Riverside men's golf team tied for fourth place at the UCSB Gaucho Invite, finishing the 54-hole tournament at 10-over par at Sandpiper Golf Club.
The Highlanders opened the event with a 289 before posting a 296 in the second round and closing with another 289 to match Utah State for fourth in the team standings.
Jacob Vazquez led UC Riverside with a tie for 11th place at 1-over 217 after rounds of 72, 74 and 71. Caden Breisch followed closely behind, tying for 15th at 2-over 218 with rounds of 72, 73 and 73.
Stephen Luo finished tied for 18th at 3-over 219 after carding rounds of 73, 74 and 72, while Samuel Bonzoumet tied for 22nd at 5-over 221 with rounds of 73, 75 and 73. Chanhee Ryu rounded out the Highlanders' lineup, tying for 34th at 9-over 225 with rounds of 72, 75 and 78.
UC Santa Barbara captured the team title at 9-under 855, followed by Denver at 7-under and Boise State at 5-over in the nine-team field.
The Highlanders close the regular season with the El Macero Classic beginning Friday, April 10th.
