Denver, CO—The UC Riverside Volleyball Team (8-4) was defeated late Saturday afternoon by Gonzaga in their last match of the Denver Invitational.

SET ONE (25-16, Gonzaga)
Key Runs: Following 4 attack errors by UC Riverside, Gonzaga led 6-0 to start the first set and remained in control the entire set.

SET TWO (28-26, Gonzaga)
Key Runs: The second set saw 8 ties, the entire set remaining within 4 points of the other team. While the Highlanders led the beginning of the set, Gonzaga remained close and took advantage of two attack errors by UCR to win the final points of the set.

SET THREE (25-21, Gonzaga)
Key Runs: Gonzaga started strong in the third set, but UCR held their ground keeping close till 13-8, when UCR started making several attack and service errors. Gonzaga also made 3 aces against the Highlanders to narrowly beat them in the third set.

GAME NOTES
Mickayla Sherman made a combined total of 14 kills and Chelsea Doyle made 29 assists in the match.

Tara Eaton and Nicole Rodriguez led the team in total match digs with 11 and 10, respectively.
