Riverside—The UC Riverside Women's Soccer Team concludes the non-conference portion of its schedule this weekend as the Highlanders host San Francisco on Friday, September 22 at 7 pm PT, and travel to CSU Bakersfield on Sunday, September 24 at 6 pm.
GAME NOTES
SPREADING THE WEALTH
The Highlanders have seven goals on the season, and no member of the team has scored more than one. The Highlanders have seven assists on the season, and only Darielle O'Brien has been credited with more than one.
GOOSE EGGS
Goalkeeper Alanna Guzman ran her streak of consecutive minutes played without allowing a goal to 477:26, giving up a score in the first half of the Highlanders' 2-2 tie at Denver on August 25 (box score/recap) to end the streak.
GONE, BUT NOT FORGOTTEN
The 2016 Highlanders' offense was led by a pair of seniors—Tayler Dragoo (4 goals, 1 assist) and Blanca Barrio (2 goals, 4 assists). Barrio graduated as the Highlanders' career leader in assists. Quinley Quezada (2 goals, 0 assists) and Hailey Maxwell (2 goals, 0 assists) are the team's top returning scorers.
DON'T CALL IT A COMEBACK
The Highlanders erased a 2-0 deficit at Denver on August 25, emerging with a 2-2 tie after a pair of scoreless overtime periods (box score/recap). The last time the Highlanders fell behind by two goals and secured at least a tie was on September 2, 2012. Trailing UTEP 2-0 late in the first, UC Riverside scored a goal just before halftime, and tied the score in the second, before netting the game-winner in the first overtime period for the 3-2 victory (box score/recap).
SCORING DROUGHT
The Highlanders scored 18 goals in 19 matches last season. UC Riverside has averaged less than 1.00 goals per match just three times in its 16-year history—last season, 2010 (3 goals/18 matches), and 2009 (14 goals/19 matches). UCR has seven goals in 10 matches this season.
DAZZLING DEBUT
Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Annie Bailey made her Highlanders debut last season in a 3-0 shutout victory at Akron on September 11 (box score/recap). The last member of the Highlanders to toss a shutout in their first start between the pipes was Sara Slaughter who blanked Pacific on October 9, 2012 (box score/recap).

The Highlanders had six matches last season go into overtime, and they were 0-2-4 in those matches. They were 0-4-0 in overtime matches the previous year, and are 0-1-2 in extra time this season. UC Riverside last won an overtime contest on October 17, 2014 in a 3-2 victory over UC Santa Barbara (
