San Luis Obispo, CA—The UC Riverside Volleyball Team (8-7, 0-3) took on Big West front-runner Cal Poly (13-2, 3-0) Saturday, falling in straight sets to the Mustangs, who are ranked 29th in the nation in the most recent AVCA Coaches Poll.
SET ONE (25-20, Cal Poly)
Key Runs: Cal Poly led 10-8, and scored five of the next seven points and 11 of the next 16 to take control of the first set.
SET TWO (25-18, Cal Poly)
Key Run: UC Riverside scored the first point of the set on a Kat Lowry kill, but Cal Poly scored the next six, and the Highlanders were never able to get closer than four points the rest of the way.
SET THREE (25-23, Cal Poly)
Key Runs: Cal Poly scored the first seven points of the set, but the Highlanders battled back to take a 22-21 lead. The Mustangs scored four of the final five points to secure the win.
GAME NOTES
Red-shirt Freshman Morgan Kline led the team with a career-high 17 assists and 11 digs for her first career double-double.
Kaiulani Ahuna recorded double-digit kills for the eighth time this season, posting a team-high 15 kills.
