Men's Basketball Comeback Falls Short In 75-68 Loss To Long Beach State

Riverside—The UC Riverside Men's Basketball Team (5-13, 0-4) jumped out to a quick start Saturday evening, but Long Beach State (9-11, 3-1) recovered quickly, and held on for a 75-68 Big West Conference victory over the Highlanders.
KEY RUNS
UC Riverside led 7-4 early in the first, but the 49ers scored the next 11 points and never trailed the rest of the way.
GAME NOTES
Eric Rwahwire made the first start of his collegiate career for the Highlanders.
The 24 offensive rebounds allowed by the Highlanders are the most they have given up this season.
Eight different Highlanders scored in the first half but no player had more than 6 points (Alex Larsson).
Twelve different Highlanders scored in the game, but no player had more than 10 points (Larsson).
Larsson finished with a team-high 10 points. That is the fourth time he has led the team in scoring this year, and his 11th game with 10 or more points this season. He has also scored in double figures in four straight games.
