RIVERSIDE, Calif.—The UC Riverside Women's Golf team will look to finish out its fall season on a high note when it competes in the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, beginning on Sunday.
UNLV is hosting the tournament at Boulder Creek Golf Club, which is a 6342-yard, par 72 layout. The Highlanders will compete against colleges from across the country, including Minnesota, Nebraska and Colorado State. Big West foes Long Beach State and UC Irvine are also competing.
The team's lineup for the competition includes: Jakeishya Le, Ping Huang, Hailey White, Serena Chon and Kayla Kwong.
Jakeishya Le has been a standout on the team so far this season. She finished seventh overall at the Aggie Invitational and won the individual title at the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate last month. That finish earned her Big West Women's Golfer of the Month for September.
The Highlanders finished 10th out of 17 teams at last year's competition. Le, Chon and Kwong all played in the Showdown. Le finished tied for third in 2016 at -7, which set a UCR Women's Golf 36-hole record.
