Men's Soccer to Host UC Santa Barbara and UC Davis

RIVERSIDE, Calif.- This week, the UC Riverside Men's Soccer Team will look to take the momentum from last weekend's win over Cal Poly back home as the Highlanders host UC Santa Barbara for a Wednesday night matchup and UC Davis Saturday evening. Both matches are set to start at 7:00 PM.

SCOUTING THE GAUCHOS
UC Santa Barbara comes into Wednesday's matchup at 1-1 in conference play after dropping Cal State Fullerton 1-0 this past Saturday. The Gauchos are 7-5-0 overall

SCOUTING THE AGGIES
UC Davis comes into the week with an 0-1-1 record in conference that places them just behind UCR in the Big West standings at 6th, but are ranked No. 25 by Top Drawer Soccer. The Aggies are 7-2-3 overall and will face UC Irvine at home before making the trip to Riverside.

LAST MATCH
The Highlanders are coming off of a 1-0 win over Cal Poly last weekend and are currently 1-1 in Big West play. Junior Uros Illic gave UCR the win notching his first goal of the season in double overtime.

THE DANIEL DUO
Sophomore Daniel Aguirre and freshman Daniel Castaneda have combined for six goals so far this season, four of which have come in the last four matches. Castaneda iced the match vs CBU forcing overtime, Aguirre gave the Highlanders a late score vs UCI, and both student-athletes found the back of the net in the matchup with San Diego.

DUSAN DOING WORK
Senior Dusan Keca helped the Highlanders win the first ever Crosstown Showdown on September 22nd, playing excellent defense and punching in a match-winning penalty kick in the 110th minute. The defender is 2-for-2 on pk's so far this season.

DON'T STOP BELIEVING
The Highlanders have fared well late in matches as they have scored six goals in the 85th minute or later. Three of those goals were knocked in by sophomore midfielder Daniel Aguirre.
