Men's Golf Ready for Desert Intercollegiate

PALM DESERT, Calif.—The UC Riverside Men's Golf team continues its spring season on Friday in the Desert Intercollegiate, marking the sixth straight year it's participating in the tournament.
The Desert Intercollegiate is hosted by the University of Wyoming at the Classic Club, which is a 7,306-yard, Par 72 layout. The team will play an 18-hole round each day, with the final round coming on Sunday.
Some of the 21 teams in the field include: Boise State, TCU and Texas Tech. Cal Poly and Cal State Fullerton are the only other Big West schools that are participating.
The team's lineup for this year includes: Michael Wong, Bahram Talle, Andrew Spilman, Sam He and Eddy Yi.
Spilman and Wong were in the lineup last year when the team finished seventh out of 23 teams. Spilman finished tied for 15th place, which included a second round 68 (-4).
The Highlanders finished seventh out of 10 teams in The Farms Invitational on Feb. 12. Wong had five birdies in the final round, four of which came on the back nine. Talle, Spilman and He all had four birdies in the final round.
