RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The Highlander's Track and Field teams will be honoring the late Chris Rinne at their home meet: The Chris Rinne Twilight. The meet used to be called the Highlander Classic but the UC Riverside community felt it was important to memorialize a pillar of the UCR Track and Field program.

Recent Highlander Results
Pomona-Pitzer Invitational
Senior Justin Parker finished fifth out of 52 participants with a time of 48.72 in the men's 400 meter dash. The senior also participated in the 200 meter dash (22.04) in which he placed 20th out of 90 participants.
UC San Diego Collegiate Open
Junior Natalie Mitchell had a strong showing in San Diego. The junior won the women's shot put event with a best of 13.57m (44'6.25"). Mitchell also came in third in the women's discus event with a best throw of 42.17m (132'2").
Sac State Mondo Team Challenge
Parker won the men's 400 meter dash and qualified for the Big West conference with a time of 48.26. The senior also came in third place in the 200 meter dash running a 22.05.
Sophomore Quinn Williams in the 110 meter hurdles ran a great time of 14.92. Williams also came in second in the 400 meter hurdles (54.26) with teammate, junior Slade Cavallaro, coming in fourth (57.27).
A pair of Big West qualifiers came in the women's 400 meter as freshman Alonna Johnson, who improved her time, came in second place with a time of 55.99 while junior Kenady Jackson was right behind her for third place (56.64).
In the women's 200 meter dash, junior Dili Amarasekara came in second with a time of 25.19 barely beating out teammate, freshman Emily Hawk, by .08 seconds. Hawk was right behind Amarasekara in third place with a time of 25.27.
The day was capped off by an impressive performance by the men's 4x400 meter relay team. Junior Slade Cavallaro, senior Justin Parker, sophomore Jose Cruz and freshman Tanner Anderson won the race with an outstanding time of 3:14:20. This relay team is currently ranked third in the Big West.
The Highlanders look to continue to build off their strong performances to sharpen up for the Big West Conference in the next month.
