Men's Basketball Adds Two Freshmen and Two Transfers to 2019-2020 Roster

RIVERSIDE, Calif.-The UC Riverside Men's Basketball Team is proud to announce the signing of four new Highlanders that are set to join the team for the 2019-2020 season. Wednesday afternoon UCR received NLI's from incoming freshmen Zyon Pullin and Quinton Ford, as well as AGIA's from incoming transfers Khyber Kabellis and Angus McWilliam. These four future Highlanders will join a program on the rise and bring the team versatility, athleticism, and size.

Zyon Pullin (Pleasant Hill, CA - 6'3 G)
Zyon comes to Riverside from College Park HS where he recently led his team to a 22-6 record as a senior. During his final year, the guard averaged 26 points, eight assists, and five rebounds a game on his way to a a First Team All-League honor in the Diablo Athletic League. He is a physical addition to the Highlander backcourt and graduates from College Park holding the record for most points in a game with 45.

"Zyon will be a great addition to our backcourt, Patrick said, "He has great size and toughness , that will help bolster our depth in that area. We are excited to have him and his family apart of Highlander program "

Quinton Ford (Austin,TX - 6'4 G)
Quinton joins the Highlanders with a long list of accolades gathered at Copperas Cove HS including a seat in the 1K point club, three First Team All-District selections, and an Academic All-District selection. The guard brings elite athleticism and deep shooting range to the Highlanders after averaging 24 points, six rebounds, four assists, and three steals in his senior year.

"Quinton's athleticism and skills et gives us added versatility on the perimeter," Head Coach David Patrick said. "We are glad he chose us and committed to us early in his senior season. We are elated he is officially a Highlander 

Angus McWilliam (Christchurch, New Zealand - 6'10 F)
Angus heads to UCR as a redshirt sophomore from TCU that dominated in high school averaging 27 points, 22 rebound, four assists, and three blocks per game. The New Zealand native was a member of the nation's U-19 national team and brings an athletic and physical presence to the Highlander front court.

"We're so excited to have Angus join our program," Patrick said, "We are getting a phenomenal person and talent that will bolster our size and skill. Angus has come from a winning program in TCU and his International experience will help us the minute he steps on campus"

Khyber Kabellis (Escondido, CA - 6'5 G)
Khyber joins the Highlanders for his final year of NCAA competition after serving years for both North Dakota State and Pacific. The lengthy guard played in 20 games for the Tigers during the 2018-2019 season including six starts to end the season. At NDSU the guard played in almost every game as a freshman posting 20 starts. He brings experience and work ethic to the Highlanders.

"Khy is the senior leader we need," Patrick said, "His experience and skill set will combine well with our returning group. Khy understands what it takes to win at this level, and he is an excellent student ."
