NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – UC Riverside's Baseball team played a game that they will wish they had a mulligan for on Saturday. The Highlanders lost to CSUN 25-1 in the second game of the set.
Like Friday, the Matadors scored 10-plus runs in the first two innings to put the Highlanders in a deep hole to start. Unlike on Friday, the team wasn't able to claw back. Going into the fourth inning down 14-1, the team struggled to find holes in CSUN's defense.
Sophomore
Nathan Webb was the lone bright spot for the Highlanders as he had two hits in the game and scored the only run. Junior
Connor Cannon also extended his hitting streak to eight games.
The Highlanders kept fighting as they loaded the bases in the top of the eighth with one out but were unable to capitalize. Junior
Nick Kafer was able to pitch a scoreless eighth.
The Highlanders will look to steal the last game of the series tomorrow versus the Matadors. The game will be played tomorrow, April 7
th at 1:00pm.
