Softball Set for Second Straight NISC Appearance

RIVERSIDE, Calif.—The UC Riverside Softball Team (26-25) is off to Reno, NV for the program's second consecutive playoff appearance, as the Highlanders are set to return to the National Invitational Softball Championship (NISC). The Highlanders head into the first round of competition absent several key players due to injuries, but remain undaunted as they prepare to get past the likes of Fresno State, LMU, and host Nevada in this very young tournament.

UC Riverside saw a tough end to the regular season, but the team boasts experience in the NISC after going undefeated in last year's regional at UNLV and finishing as the runner-up in the championship round at LMU. In all, the team carries an all-time postseason record of 5-2.

The Nevada Regional is set to start this Thursday with the first matchup featuring the Highlanders and top-seeded Fresno State at 1 PM. For the full regional bracket click here.
