RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The UC Riverside Baseball heads off to Cal Poly for the last away series of the 2019 season. The Mustangs are currently in the thick of the Big West race and the Highlanders are looking to play spoiler. The team will look to finish off the season with some momentum.

Junior
Connor Cannon became the first Big West player in history to win three straight Big West Player of the Week awards. He set a UCR record for most home runs in a season, 17, vs. Grand Canyon on Tuesday. He also set the UCR career home run record (31) and has added to that lead with 35 now. He leads the Big West with 17 home runs and slugging percentage, .693. The junior has a monster slash line of .331/.435/.693.

The Highlanders only came away with one victory but showed great character as they didn't have a set starter for any game. The team utilized a staff performance for every game but were fortunate enough to get six strong innings from junior
Shamus Lyons in their win vs. Fullerton. Cannon set the school record for home runs in a season with 17 on Tuesday vs. Grand Canyon. Junior
Travis Bohall had an outstanding three games as he posted 10 hits through the three games he played in, including a career-high four on Friday vs. Fullerton.
