RIVERSIDE, Calif. – UC Riverside men's basketball is once again one step closer to taking the ESPN national stage in 2022-23 after having four games selected to the Big West's linear broadcast schedule, the conference announced on Wednesday. Click here for the full Big West release.
The linear broadcast schedule includes five regular-season Big West matchups and the final three men's games at the 2023 Hercules Tires Big West Basketball Championships, presented by the Hawaiian Islands.
All five regular-season Big West contests will appear on ESPN2 or ESPNU, and games will be selected through a "wildcard" format in which pairings will be determined and announced at least 10 days prior to each contest. ESPNU will feature a Big West conference opener on December 29, two games the weekend of February 9 and 11 and a regular-season finale on March 4. ESPN2 will showcase a Saturday night tilt on February 25.
Per the new linear schedule, UCR's collection of games includes two inside the newly revamped SRC Arena: Thursday, December 29 vs. CSU Bakersfield at 6:00 p.m. and Thursday, February 9 vs. UC Davis at 8:00 p.m. The two Highlander contests away from the Inland Empire include Saturday, February 11 at UC Irvine and Saturday, March 4 at Cal Poly. UC Riverside went 2-0 on ESPNU last season with a home win over previously-unbeaten Hawaii and a dramatic win at Cal State Fullerton that handed the Titans just their second home loss of the year.
The 2022-23 men's basketball season tips off on Friday, October 28 with an exhibition matchup against CSU Dominguez Hills at 6:00 p.m. inside the SRC Arena before UC Riverside travels to Colorado for the season opener on Monday, November 7 on Pac-12 Networks.
