The University of California, Riverside Highlanders traveled from the Inland Empire across the Pacific Ocean to the University of Hawai'i to challenge the Rainbow Wahine in their penultimate road game of the 2022 season. 

The Highlanders quickly took command of the pitch, with Alexandra Hargrave getting her first shot of the game off in the first 15 seconds after kick off.

In the 15', Kameron Henry found the net early off an assist from Alexandra Hargrave, lifting the Highlanders ahead of the Rainbow Wahine, 1-0. 

Evenly matched offensively in the first half, the Highlanders got off nine shots and the Wahine took eight shots.

In the second period, Hawai'i held UC Riverside to nine shots as they battered the Highlanders goal with 12 attempts.

In the 72' the Wahine's energized offense paid off, as Hawaii found the net with an equalizing goal, tying the game up 1-1 with a little less than 20 minutes on the clock. 

With just ten minutes left in the match, the Rainbow Wahine put one past Highlander keeper, Caela Kaio, to take the lead 2-1.  

The Highlanders ran out of time to counter Hawaii's late second goal, and the Rainbow Wahine won the game.
