RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside hosted its annual homecoming game on Saturday, November 19 at the SRC Arena, treating the crowd to a resounding 106-30 victory over Occidental. 

UCR imposed its will on the Division III Tigers with a 30-6 lead midway through the first half. UCR was 6 for 13 from downtown at the seven-minute mark and went into half with a commanding 52-19 lead, thanks to an 11-for-20 clip from the perimeter. 

UC Riverside's bench enjoyed its finest performance yet of the early season with 58 points, led by 12 from Vladimer Salaridze. 

Jhaylon Martinez recorded his second double double in as many homecoming games on Saturday, going for 13 points and 12 rebounds with a 6-for-7 clip from the field. Martinez was one of six Highlanders in double figures against the Tigers. Back-to-back triples from Vladimir Salaridze in the second half gave UCR 15 on the night, the first game with 15 threes for the Highlanders since the 2019-20 season against Cal Poly. 

A layup from Nate Pickens and Jamal Hartwell II's fourth triple of the night kept UCR on cruise control with a 13-0 and 31-6 run. 

UC Riverside finished the night with 19 makes from the perimeter, two shy of the program single-game record. 

Lachlan Olbrich made it double digit points in half of UCR's games in the young season, going for 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting on Saturday evening with six rebounds. Fellow newcomer Luke Turner knocked down a three just out of the under-four media break that gave UCR 100 points in a game for the first time since 2014. 

UC Riverside heads to the Vegas 4 next with three games next week, beginning on Monday, November 21 against Weber State at 7:00 p.m.
