LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC Riverside finished up a brief road swing on Saturday night at the LionTree Arena with a 3-0 defeat to UC San Diego in La Jolla.
Jessica Dean made it three consecutive 10-dig matches on Saturday with her 10 digs in the first set at LionTree Arena, finishing with a match-high 18. UCR had the Tritons in lockstep before UC San Diego pulled ahead for the one-set lead.
Hunter Thomas made her first appearance since October 14 against UC Santa Barbara, going for four kills on 16 attack attempts with a dig against the Tritons. Mylei Vargas-Deason led the Highlanders in kills for the second of two meetings with UC San Diego in 2022, notching seven alongside two digs and a block assist.
UCR notched seven service aces on Saturday, the most away from the SRC Arena since logging nine at CSU Bakersfield on October 8.
UC Riverside returns to the SRC Arena for a four-match home stand to close out the home schedule, beginning on November 10 with a 5:00 p.m. match against CSU Bakersfield on ESPN+.
