Three Highlanders Earn All-Big West Recognition

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Three Highlanders earned All-Big West honors on Monday, as announced by the Big West.

Dominick Pickett was named Best Hustle Player for the second consecutive season in addition to Honorable Mention alongside Callum McRae, while Zyon Pullin was named to the Second Team.

Pickett, who earlier this year became the program's all-time leader in games played, ranks fifth in the conference with 1.48 steals per game heading into this week's Big West Tournament, and currently sits tied for sixth on UC Riverside's all-time list with Dikymbe Martin at 115. Pickett also ranks sixth in the conference with 1.92 made threes per contest.

Callum McRae's eight double doubles led the Big West this year, and his 6.22 defensive rebounds per game also led the conference and ranked 36th nationally. Four of the Kiwi's eight double doubles came in UCR's last five games of the season.

Pullin earned All-Conference honors for the second year in a row after being named Honorable Mention last year. This year's Second Team recognition is backed by a conference-leading 4.3 assists per contest and 15.3 points per game in Big West play, ranking eighth. Pullin went for double-digit scoring in all but one Big West game this year.

UC Riverside opens up this week's Big West Basketball Championship as the six seed, taking on third-seeded Hawaii at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 10 at the Dollar Loan Center in Henderson, Nevada. UCR is 1-0 against the Rainbow Warriors this year after a 64-59 home win on February 3 on ESPNU.
