STOCKTON, Calif. - UC Riverside completed the first 18 holes of the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational on Monday at The Reserve at Spanos Park. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• All five Highlanders in the lineup teed off on the back nine. Josh Hu started strong, parring eight of nine holes after bogeying 10. 
• Nik Kittilson birdied three holes on the back nine and Mark Gao birdied three on the front nine in Monday's first round. 
• Chanhee Ryu parred 12 holes on Monday's opening round in Stockton. 

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS

• Gao is UCR's leader in the clubhouse with a top-50 standing after four birdies and 10 pars. 
• Cortez Herrera enjoyed a strong start to his day with a birdie on 10 before parring the next four holes. He and Kittilson were even par at the turn. 

UP NEXT

• UC Riverside will resume play on Tuesday morning from Stockton with live results available on Golfstat. Herrera will start first for the Highlanders at 7:39 a.m. with all five once again starting on 10.
