SOMIS, Calif. - UC Riverside turned in its best performance of the season across the first two rounds of the Bill Cullum Invitational in Somis and is currently tied for third heading into Tuesday's final round at The Saticoy Club with a 36-hole score of 7-over 587. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Josh Hu and Chanhee Ryu (T7) each found themselves in the top 10 after 18 holes, carding a 71 (-1) to start out the day.
• Nik Kittilson and Kamaljit Singh also posted identical first-round scores, both shooting a 75 (+3) to tie for 31st after a round. 
• Ryu recorded five birdies in round two to maintain his T6 status after 36 holes. 
• Maddox Yi gained his composure and showed significant improvement in round two with a 73 (+1). 

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS

• Hu's 71 (-1) in round one came with birdies on five and 11, plus an early eagle on 16 after teeing off on 14. It was the senior's second consecutive round of 71 this season. The senior carded his second round of the season at or under par and is now up to 24 for his career. 
• Ryu's 71 (-1) was a season low for the California Baptist transfer. Ryu almost went bogey free, but did card birdies on seven and 10. 
• Yi's second round bumped him 11 spots up the leaderboard into the top 75.
